Kidulthood is a British movie based in West London, this film tells the audience a story of three friends who have different problems that they face throughout. This film is mainly focused on school kids who are carrying different influences that teenages face in everyday life, such as violence and drugs.

We see a range of props being used throughout the trailer, much violent weapons are used such as gun or knives. These props are used to attack people this connotes to the term enigma as the audience wants to know what will happen to the characters when they are attacking eachother and how it effects their everyday life.

The costumes that are being worn by the teenage kids from West London are stereotypical as they are wearing tracksuits and hooded tops etc. This represents the way many teenagers dress today in society. With many of the characters wearing hoods, this represents the stereotype of being a criminal/ thug, this may result in people thinking that they are the usual suspects in carrying weapons.

Low key which makes it very realistic and there are no special effects, which would make it look like a very unreliable source. The lighting changes as during scenes of violence/ fighting, the natural lighting is dark to represent pathetic fallacy. In the beginning of the trailer the lighting is bright as it shows happiness in the party! The setting is in a ‘slum’ where a lot of violence usually takes place. It is on Ladbroke Grove where crime is really common and we see the most of violence taking place like it is a common thing.
